Friday

Well, it is looking more and more like Friday will be the birthday of the baby. Hopefully when they induce me that morning it doesn't take more than 24 hours!! We have been instructed to be there at 6 am, not eating or drinking anything after midnight, and be ready for induction. I am soo ready-although I am really really scared and nervous at the same time. I think I would rather just be surprised, waking up in a puddle of water and rushing to the hospital--this way I would have less time to actually think about the reality of things.

Either way, I know everything will be just fine, I am ready to meet this little one inside of me!

April 10th---DUE DATE!!

Well the doctor didn't tell us what we wanted to hear yesterday. STILL dilated 1-2 but he said I am really soft so I can really go at any time. They have me scheduled to induce on the 17th if I don't go on my own before then so all we can do now is hope he or she decides to come before then. If not...well we know we have less than a week left regardless so there is FINALLY light at the end of the tunnel!!

Just a Little Update

Had ANOTHER appt last Friday, the 3rd, dilated to 1.5, about 50% effaced.
They have set to induce on the 17th if I don't go on my own before then...
please pray for us that we don't need to use to induction date. I want to go
on my own BEFORE the 17th!! I have waited long enough...

Anyhow, we go back on this Friday, the 10th, which is our due date.
Hopefully to find out that I am dilated much further and am ready to go!

First 'check'

Reality set in yesterday at the doctor's office...I am dilated between a 0 and 1, baby is head down, and although he/she will not be here for a few more weeks, anytime from now on out is safe sailing!! Dr. Costa assumes that the baby weighs around 6 1/2 pounds now...which makes me assume that baby will be between 8 and 9 pounds at birth!!

We are still counting down the days and getting more and more excited/nervous/scared knowing the day is getting closer and closer!! Wish us luck and we will let you all know when the little one arrives!

Updates!!

We are down to 6.5 weeks remaining and are visiting the doctor every two weeks at this point! I would like to not go to the doctor so much but prenatal care is very important and if anything were to go wrong it is very likely that with frequent visits we would be able to catch them very quickly!

Dr. Costa said that I am measuring at 34 weeks and am 33 weeks along so things are pretty much right on track. She said we may end up doing an ultrasound in another couple of weeks to check the exact size of the baby but she doesn't, at this point, think that will be necessary!

Luckily we have had a wonderful pregnancy so far and hope that the home stretch goes as well as the beginning. We will keep updating as the time gets closer and closer-cannot believe that the baby will be here before too long! I am ready to see what the sex of the baby is and see what he or she looks like but am also getting very anxious and nervous about becoming a parent!

It's a....SURPRISE!!!

We had our sonogram Friday the 5th and everything looks great. The baby is 1 lb and 1 oz, they didn't tell us the length. All of the major organs are functioning properly and the baby is growing proportionally so far. We were glad to get a wonderful report and though I did not want to find out what the sex was Brett did--he knows and I do not. He had to swear to me over and over that he wouldn't tell a soul-there are serious consequences if he does.

This Week...

I am currently 21 weeks pregnant...we get our ultrasound this Friday-Dec 5th-and even though we are not finding out what the baby is we are excited! I will post the pics soon thereafter!
